Caterpillars October Newsletter
As you will have noticed there have been few staff changes in the room over the past couple of weeks. Until the end of the year Lauren will be out of the room and in the office to help with the transition of our new Director Sally. Melissa has also moved out of the room and will be working on float for the rest of the year. We would like to welcome Karmel back to the room, Karmel has now completed her Certificate 3 in Child Care. Jacqui, whom you all know will remain in the room as the Diploma Qualified. Megan, who has been on placement, will be continuing in the room till the end of the year. And Akalia, who has been with us for a while, will also continue in the room. We are all looking forward to working together as a team until the end of the year. Please do not hesitate to approach any of the staff with questions or concerns you may have.
A little bit about Megan:
For those of you who have not met me, my name is Megan Longstaff. I recently moved to Victoria with my family and am excited to begin my new career in Early Childhood Education. I have completed my Bachelor in Primary Education and am currently studying a Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care. I have a passion for providing quality care and education and love watching children develop and grow as they discover and learn. I am thrilled to be continuing to work with the wonderful staff and children in the Caterpillar room.
A little bit about Akalia:
My name is Akalia Rayson and I have been working in the Caterpillar room since June. I have spent the last 9 years working in retail. I began to develop a passion for early childhood education when I became an Aunt in 2011. I am currently studying my certificate 3 in Early Childhood and am looking forward to continuing to develop my knowledge and passion in the area. I am excited to be remaining in the Caterpillar room and working with the staff and children for the rest of the year.
Update on previous staff member Karmel:
I would like to announce for people who are not aware I am expecting my second bubba in February. I have also finished my traineeship and I am a Qualified Cert 3, I am very excited to meet and get to know all the new faces in the Caterpillars Room as well as helping the children to build on their development about the world around them, please feel free to ask me any questions you have.
As we all can feel the hot weather crawling in very quickly we have begun to kick off with a lot more water play during the day. Could parents please include extra clothing as children tend to get very wet during this experience. Also children need to be wearing sleeved tops not singlets or thin strapped as they are not sunsmart clothing. Hats are a must if children want to play in the direct sun, please supply a hat for your child or you can purchase a Jenny’s hat from the office off the staff the hats are $10 dollars each.
