What’s been happening in May/June
This month we have been exploring Seasons, more specifically Autumn, and discussing the changes that take place around us depending on which season it is. From the great interest and learning shown, we will be heading off to the White Hills Botanical Gardens to discover in a hands on manner what has been happening, and also collect leaves and other interesting items we might come across. This will also be a ‘practice packing your lunch day’.
The outside garden areas have come up a treat. Thank you to all the parents (and the children) who assisted in this project. I think you’ll all agree that once the plants are established, it’s going to be a very welcoming and interesting play space.
We had a wonderful time at Eppalock Primary School, practicing how to be school kids with a group story time, table activities and exploring the interactive whiteboard. Thanks to all the adult helpers who came along!
Since completing our first cycle of Letterland, which is done in order of A-Z, we are now entering our second cycle which is done in a jumbled up format. This challenges the children to think outside of route learning (in order) and to be able to cope with the fact that letters can be jumbled up.
Once again, our afternoon tea was extremely popular with lots of mums and special people in attendance. It was lovely to meet so many new faces and extended family members, and for you to meet ours!
Happy Birthday to: Varley, Ziggy, Dempsey, Charli, Myah, Riley, Jonty.Y, Emily, Summer and Rachael
2013 Kinder Graduates Afternoon Tea:
Thursday 10th July at 2.45pm. It’s during school holidays, so hopefully everyone can attend. We are really excited about catching up with our inaugural kinder graduates and finding out all the cool (and not so cool) things about school.
2014 Kinder Family Picnic/Play Date:
It has been expressed that some families are finding it difficult to connect given that we don’t have set drop off and pick up times. To support our families in making connections I have organised a monthly picnic/playdate. This will be on the last Sunday of each month at the Crook Street Park at 12noon. I look forward to hearing all about it and hopefully some photos that I can display.
2014 Kinder Family Movie Night:
Wear your PJ’s, bring your own bean bag and relax with our kinder community. JELC will provide milo and popcorn. Movie to start at 7pm, and suggestions are most welcome. If bringing your own snacks please be aware of egg and nut allergies. This is strictly for kinder kids and their direct family member only. A reminder that JELC is an alcohol and smoke free setting. Please RSVP to kinder staff.
