Community Heroes Week

We are currently acknowledging the work done by our community heroes – police, ambulance, CFA & SES. The staff are wearing a different colour each day to support each organisation and children are encouraged to wear the colour of the organisation they wish to represent. The colours the staff are wearing are Police-blue (Monday), Ambulance-white (Tuesday), CFA-red (Wednesday), SES-orange (Thursday) and a rainbow of colours on Friday. This has been a huge success with everyone joining in and raising awareness for these great foundations.

Bake Sale & Art Sale

The children and staff have been working very hard on some beautiful art works and yummy baked goods to sell as a fundraiser for our Community Heroes. These are on sale in the foyer with the art being $2 for the small canvas or $4 for the large canvas and baking being $2.50/plate. All these products have been made by the children with support from the staff with the baking. We have raised a tremendous amount of money to donate to each foundation as a thankyou for all of their hard work when we need them the most.

This week we welcome to our team a new cook – Dean Bennett. Dean has a wealth of experience cooking in early childhood centres and also as a professional chef. He is passionate about healthy food for children and supports the garden to plate philosophy of nutritional education for children. Please stop by the kitchen and say hello and if you have any questions/concerns at all about your child’s diet at Jenny’s please ask.

Sharna has not left us – she has made a move into the Bumblebees room where she can further develop her career as a Diploma qualified early childhood educator.

Children’s Illness

One case of Hand, Foot & Mouth virus has been reported to the Caterpillars Room. A thorough disinfect of all equipment, resources & surfaces has been done but please remember this virus is airborne through coughs & sneezes in its early stages so is difficult to manage. A fact sheet has been attached.

Next Wednesday & Thursday are photo days for the centre. Uncle Jay’s Photography will be here to capture some memorable images for your family album. We anticipate group photos will be around 9.30am so please make sure you are here by that time if you would like to be in that shot.

Children who don’t attend on Wednesday or Thursday are welcome to come in for the group shot or individual photos. Please contact the office if you wish to add your name to the list.

That’s all from us in the Office

From Jaylea and Lauren.
