Yarrington Room News, April 2015 (Bendigo Hospital)

Yarrington would like to welcome all new families to Jenny’s ELC at the Bendigo Hospital. We have a few new Educators we need to welcome also. You will see Alex, Jeanette and Bree on a full time basis. Also Tania will be in the room on Tuesday’s, Wednesday’s and Thursday’s with all three bringing a wealth of knowledge, experience and passion for children. We also welcome Elise who is just starting out on her journey as an early childhood educator.

To help the children settle in we are asking for family photos to put up on our family tree. You can email them to us at bendigohospital@jennyselc.com.au or print them off and we will do the rest.

Please remember to label all your child’s bottles, clothes, hat, comfort items and anything else you bring to ensure they don’t go missing or in another child’s bag.

We believe that music and singing is important in children’s development. There is always spontaneous singing and dancing within the Yarrington room. The two songs we have been focusing on are “Old McDonald had a farm” and “Open, shut them” and we encourage the children to follow along with the actions. To support our music and movement we have Hey-Dee-Ho come in on Friday’s for the term.

The children have been showing great interest in outdoor play. We have been providing the children with water play experiences and this helps the children use their sensory capabilities and dispositions with increasing integration, skill and purpose to explore and respond to their world. The children are also learning to interact in relation to others with care, empathy and respect.

If you have any questions or concerns please don’t hesitate to ask, we look forward to the year ahead.
