Our Early Learning Centre in Heathcote
Heathcote is a very special centre and project. With a planned opening of early 2019 the centre is attached to the Heathcote Children’s Hub Bunbunarik and is the first child care centre is Heathcote’s history. Paying homage to this historical moment the centre is positioned between two heritage listed building in St John’s Cathedral and also Bud Hall circa 1854. The building and landscaping was made possible by tireless efforts of volunteers and local residents passionate about ensuring the children of the town has the very best start in life. >
Our Heathcote centre will operate with an ethos of providing exceptional child care options for families within the Heathcote region. The centre plans to provide care for children from 6 weeks to 6 years of age. We plan also to operate a recognized Pre School program to support working families requiring more flexibility than the typical sessional Kindergarten programs. The children enrolled in our Heathcote centre can expect to be immersed in an educational program that considers each child’s individual needs, interests and the wider community values. Heathcote Childcare Education Programs
Each program offered at our Heathcote early learning centre focuses on an emergent curriculum, shaped around children’s interests and developmental needs, as well as play-based learning. Integrating indoor and outdoor play with our state-of-the-art facilities, children have the opportunity to explore a challenging environment aimed at developing each child’s self-esteem, physical skills and social abilities.
We work to provide diverse and tailored excursions, incursions and special events days, building relationships with families and the local community.
The Pre-Kindergarten program for 3 to 4-year-olds is more than just childcare. This program is also run by a university-qualified educator who is passionate about the care and education they provide to our children. The program allows children to explore the resources of the centre and develop their skills in a play-based environment, supporting a confident and smooth transition to the Kindergarten room.
