Jenny’s ELC Bendigo Hospital

Bendigo Hospital Childcare Centre

Located within the grounds of Bendigo Health, on the corner of Lucan and Arnold Streets, Jenny’s Early Learning Centre Bendigo Hospital is the charming heritage-listed Yarrington House. Blending harmoniously with the new, state of the art renovations in the rear, our Bendigo Hospital location is surrounded by 100-year-old deciduous trees and open grassland, which we try to incorporate into our programs at every opportunity.

Opened in 2014, our Bendigo Hospital centre is open 52 weeks of the year, closing between Christmas and New Year, and on Victorian Public Holidays.

Bendigo Hospital Educational Rooms

Jenny’s ELC Bendigo Hospital hosts five rooms, three outdoor yards and a magnificent deck, overlooking the outdoor play spaces which feature soil, sand and running water. Fruit trees, vegetable gardens and sensory gardens are woven into the landscape and tended to by the children and educators, giving children a creative, sensory learning experience.

Our curriculum is spontaneous, emergent, and reflects the interests and developmental levels of the children. Incorporating programs that promote sustainability, literacy, numeracy and creative arts, the centre offers excursions, incursions, special family days and dress up days that support children’s interests and concurrently develop relationships with the local community.

Integral to our centre is our Kindergarten program, operating from 8:30am to 5:00pm each day. The program is run by a university qualified Kindergarten teacher and incorporates an extensive transition to school program, developed in conjunction with the Early Years Coordinators of surrounding schools. The program includes visits to schools, as well as visits to the centre by the school’s Prep teachers.

Jenny’s ELC Bendigo Hospital also offers a Pre-Kindergarten program managed by a university qualified teacher. Children can explore the resources of the centre, developing and extending their skills in a play-based environment, which will support a confident and smooth transition to the Kindergarten Room.

An extensive orientation and transition process gives families, educators and children the opportunity to evaluate the best placing for each child.
