Auction Night at The Schaller Studio

Auction Night at The Schaller Studio

What an exciting week for Jenny’s ELC Bendigo Hospital!

On Wednesday 6th April, we held our 2016 Art Auction Night in partnership with The Schaller Studio, Exemplar Health and the Bendigo Health Foundation.

Our Kindergarten children had the opportunity to auction 36 of their incredible artworks to parents and the community. With a total of $1600 raised for the Bendigo Health Foundation, all proceeds will support the ‘Communities for Children’ Language and Literacy Program.

With over 100 people attending the night, the Auction went off without a hitch! Our Jenny’s families, friends, and community supporters gathered at The Schaller Studio to support Bendigo Health. We congratulate the Jenny’s ELC Kindergarten children on their beautiful artworks. We would like to extend our thanks to all that attended. It was great to see so many friendly faces attending for such a great cause!

How the Auction Night came to be:

The idea for this special event was developed through collaboration between Michele Morrison, CEO of Exemplar Health, Darren Reid, Managing Director of Jenny’s ELC, and Amy Moylan, Hotel Schaller manager. The Auction Night was planned with the aim building and nurturing the relationships between Bendigo Health Foundation and the private businesses established on its grounds.

It was a wonderful night had by all! Our Auction judge and Bendigo Health Foundation Board Member, Peter Leersen especially enjoyed being a part of the night, “I never expected the art would be of this quality, the Auction was the best fun I’ve had in ages!”

Amy Moylan of Hotel Schaller was heartened by the look of joy and pride on the children’s faces as they took her hand-by-hand to share their artwork. Jenny’s ELC Educator Marianne-Loy Baum felt overwhelmed by the quality and thoughtfulness of the children’s artwork.

With children’s literacy and early learning development being dear to the heart of Jenny’s ELC, funds raised will be donated to the ‘Books for Babies’ project, allowing new born babies to receive a book which encourages new parents to read, sing, and dance with their child.

Bendigo Health Foundation Director Jane Anderson has congratulated and recognised the efforts of the children and organisers involved in the initiative, and thanks Jenny’s ELC for their continuous support and donation. We are proud of our children and organisers for contributing to such a special event!

In response to the success of the 2016 Art Auction, we have already begun planning the 2017 Auction! We are excited to see what can be achieved for the event next year.

Finally, we invite for our parents, family friends and children to attend the ‘Fundraiser for Fiji’ Movie Night. Held on April 8th 2016, this fundraiser will raise money for the communities destroyed by Cyclone Winston. Please talk with your Centre Directors for more information. We hope to see you all there!
