Getting ‘Apped’ with your Child’s Learning

Kids are learning in more and different ways, and apps are a great way to help your children learn in a creative and dynamic fashion! The team at Jenny’s ELC have found these apps to be great ways to encourage your children’s learning, and they’re great fun too.

  1. Gro Garden
An organic gardening game that will engage and stimulate your child, by feeding plants on the app and seeing them grow. Micro organisms called Connie the Compost and her friends produce more nutritious soil, and when you’ve started harvesting tasty fresh veggies, you’ll be able to treat Banja the Rabbit and his friends to treats! Gro Garden teaches your child to understand environmental issues in an entertaining way.
  2. Endless Alphabet
Endless Alphabet is an extremely popular app to help kids learn how to read. Your child will be able to learn their ABC’s, as well as build their vocabulary with adorable monster friends to help them. Different words feature an interactive puzzle with talking letters and a short animation explaining the definition.
  3. PLAY123
This is a fun, appealing app for children to get a head start in geometrical, spacial and logical concepts. Children draw lines, circles, squares and triangles and monitor the interaction between them. This is a great app for your child to learn basic mathematical concepts, and has won the 2013 Editor’s Choice Award from Children’s Technology Review!

There are lots of apps to help your kids learn and where they can enjoy themselves at the same time. Check out the many more on the App Store or the Play Store, and get ready for hours of educational fun with your child!
